I keep hoping all this Funshine talk will bring on the sun, but so far, looks like rain until Sunday. But when Mr. Sun does appear, you better believe I’m ready!
So you’re looking for UV protection clothing for your kids… but are cringing at the steep prices, right? Yeah, crazy that keeping our kids safe has to cost so much!
I found a great online retailer of sun protection gear for the whole family: Sun Protection Zone. With prices $5-10+ lower than other sun shirts, if you’re outfitting the whole family, you could save quite a bit.
I’m really gung-ho on this sun protection clothing (can you tell?) because as SPZ’s logo states, it’s “Sun protection that doesn’t wear off!” It is a relief to get quick sun coverage for my toddler’s body without trying to apply sunscreen everywhere. Now I can apply lotion just to the externals, and pop a sun shirt on – off we go!
Sun Protection Zone sent my baby a short sleeve rash guard in blue/white. I liked having a short sleeve option (sunscreen for his arms!) for those super hot days when a long-sleeve might be too much clothing. The collar stands up for added protection on the neck. The fit is roomy (hello use-it-again-next-year?), the fabric is a sturdy weave, and slips on easily over his head.
SPZ’s rash guards are 100 SPF / 50+ UPF rated, and are manufactured to stand up to chlorine and salt. I’ve used it in the pool for swimming lessons, and have washed it several times, and must say it is wearing well! I air dry it on a rack out of sunlight, as directed.
What I like about SPZ their range of sun safety products: Men’s and Women’s shirts, hats, jackets. Children’s shirts, hats, and even ThermoSkinz suits for water sport activities! Also sunshades, sunglasses, and sun exposure bracelets! There’s a decent range of color choices, although I must say the boys have it good with several colors and prints available in short and long sleeve rash guards! Girls have cute floral prints and pink/purple tones. Kids will really like the variety of options for sun clothing!
Disclosure: I was sent a product to facilitate this review. I was not compensated in any other way, and all opinions are 100% my own.
