Grandparents Day is September 10th, and although it’s always a good day to celebrate our grandparents, sometimes it’s nice to have a special day just for them! Grandparents Day Interview Printable
What better gift to your grandparents than to give them time to spend with your kids. Depending on your family, your kids may see a lot of their grandparents. Or, like when I grew up, I saw a lot of one set of grandparents, but not the other because they lived halfway across the country. So I only got to talk to them maybe twice a year.
To help your kids build a relationship with their grandparents, whether near or far, I’ve created this printable interview (click the preview image or here to get the PDF!)
These questions will help kids overcome shyness around grandparents they may be unfamiliar with, and generate new conversations with familiar grandparents. I’ve tried to create questions to help them get to know their grandparents on a more personal level. Each question is designed to bridge the years between grandparents and grandkids by drawing connections between the two generations. Kids will find similarities and appreciate differences when they learn the answers to these open-ended questions.
Print this out for each child and have them ask some or all of the questions on their next visit. An adult can write in the answers (or older children can do it themselves) – or video tape or record the interview! It’ll be a keepsake for years to come for your children, and the conversation will delight the grandparents!
