If I could redecorate the baby nursery…

Regrettably, I never “decorated” my baby’s nursery, other than new furniture, a quilt rack and a framed photo of our pregnancy. I never found a matchy-matchy set I liked. And I never find separate pieces that went together. But maybe it’s time to coordinate a look. Product reviewing has opened my eyes to the possibilities for nursery decor!

The crib would stay. We really like our espresso finished DaVinci Kalani convertible crib. Convertible cribs are great for transitioning babies from infancy to toddler-hood. Unless of course, we find we need the crib again soon! At the time we purchased this crib, it had the highest safety rating from Consumer Reports. That (and the lovely dark wood) was our primary reason for choosing this crib.

Our son throws everything under the crib. Lovies, pacifiers, socks. He has learned from mama to look under the crib almost every time I lift him out. Because he sees me scrabbling under there all the time to find his blankie, binky, etc. I’ve thought about pull-out or roll-out storage drawers as under crib storage . But then there will be something for the items to get “stuck” behind. Maybe when he’s older.

For accents, my dream originally was to have Twinkle, twinkle, little star vinyl lettering on the wall behind the crib, because I love star motifs! But before I could get my act together, he grew too old for those nursery rhyme lyrics. Instead we now have transportation wall stickers up, which the boys love!
Boyish curtains to match the motif would be great. Curtains are easy to change when you get tired of them. And a rug with a soft feeling for those chilly winter mornings!

I definitely want better storage for cloth diapers. We use a plastic rolling drawer cart. Functional. Not attractive. I never thought to look at hampers for this purpose, but then I saw this three drawer hamper! Lining up my cloth diapers in here would work nicely and look attractive.

What is your nursery decor? Would you change anything?

I think it would be fun to decorate a nursery. With Baby #1 we purchased a used crib, mattress, and bedding set for $99. We had everything. With #2 she never slept in her crib so I was glad we did not decorate.

But he had a great time decorating T Rex bedroom once he was older and in a twin bed. I think I'll look forward to doing this for our daughter. For now, we'll just go with what we have.

I like how you integrated the sponsor. Nicely done.

I never decorated either baby's room either. I just made them cute and fun. My little boy's room is a mis match of all of is favorite things... books, spaceships, dinosaurs, nemo. I figure the theme is "Ryan" :)

We managed to the nursery painted 2 days before the little one was born...Purple Dragon is the color, Daddy's pick ;-) I printed up some macro flower pics I had taken and framed them for her walls. I also painted a hibiscus flower on the wall above her crib. Then had some random preggo pics up. I just wish I could put our little one back in her room. Grandma moved in a couple months ago and took over the babe's room! Now our bedroom is half ours and half baby.
