Miles of Memories in the Backseat #SubaruBackseat

He was just three days old when I climbed into the backseat next to him for the ride home from the hospital.

So in love, in awe, I couldn’t bear to take my eyes off him even long enough to sit in the front for the ten-minute drive.

The four mile ride home was a ride to a new world of wonder for me.

The next three years wouldn’t be so idyllic! Life in the backseat with our baby-turned-toddler has been hilarious, hectic, and ear-splitting by turns! We’ve had singing, we’ve had dancing, we’ve had cups of milk spilled, snacks tossed, and out-and-out baby tantrums… it’s all happened back there!

The funniest memories we have of him back there is how on the way home from late church services he would start singing and yapping with deafening intensity. My husband and I would exchanged panicked glances, wondering how we’d EVER get this child to sleep when we got home.

Then, without fail, after a solid ten or so minutes of this cacophony, the car would go completely silent. We’d peer back to find him out cold, hands behind his head in a state of casual repose.

Phew!

So I can definitely related to his funny video of a toddler having a grand old time in the backseat. It’s great fun to watch so have a look:

What’s life in your backseat like?
