Pantry Staples List for Thanksgiving

Last week I shared with you how our Thanksgiving last year was a bust! Our whole family sick. At home. No big dinner!?

Yet we rallied and pulled together a hacked Thanksgiving dinner for the four of us (complete with chicken substitute!).

What a blessing it was to be able to pull all the basic Thanksgiving favorites together quickly from what I had in my pantry. If I was out of something, I had plenty to substitute (you may want to check out my 5 Spice Blends for Thanksgiving in case you find yourself in a pinch as you’re baking and cooking!).

Whole Foods sent me a box full of Thanksgiving samples and asked me to share them with you. I was immediately reminded how having a well-stocked pantry truly is the key to solving most kitchen emergencies!

For special holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas, there’s a few other items I like to stock up on, just in case we’re called on to bring a last minute side dish, make a meal for a sick family (which, in last year’s case happened to be MINE!).

Fortunately, stocking your pantry doesn’t have to cost a fortune, as long as you stick to basic items that you’ll use regularly!

I'm sure I'll be at Whole Foods this next week getting some staples. Is it bad that Thanksgiving is one week away and we have NO plans or ideas yet. #BrothersDontPlanApparently
