Little Tent in the Big Woods

I camped with my son in utero. Camping is just in his nature, I suppose! We recently came home from two back-to-back camping trips. At Maidstone State Park in Vermont, we woke, ate, slept by this glittering scene for five blissful, technology free days. Not a cell phone signal to be had! My 17-month-old loved […]

What will you do all summer? We will spend as much What will you do all summer?
We will spend as much time sandwiched between earth and sky as possible!!
Which is to say: collecting as many of our @1000hoursoutside as we can!
We love visiting friends’ homes and getting to see their backyards—this week the boys caught a massive frog! As well as these teeny tiny baby frog and toad. Maybe they will grow up to be friends like the 2 in the Frog & Toad books! I have some blog posts up for summer:
7 things better done outdoors
Outdoor Preschool ideas
Summer Bucket List (with CT links)
And more!

It’s been awhile and there’s new people here so welcome and here are 10 facts about me. At the end, tell me how many you already knew!
1. I love flowers! These roses are from our Father’s Day picnic @elizabethpark_hartfordct
2. We start our 9th #homeschool year in September. It’s middle school!
3. I love classic, British fiction and historical (non-romance) fiction
4. I am the Princess and the Pea-I need my own pillow, the perfect temperature, absolute quiet and dark to sleep well!
5. I just wrote a book of fairy tales for toddlers—it comes out this October!
6. My favorite thing to write is poetry
7. My favorite novel is Wuthering Heights, although I haven’t read it in a long while so maybe I’m ready to change my mind.
8. I’m a compulsive straightener. If I’m standing around I’m going to start organizing whatever is in front of me: pens, papers, woodchips at the playground.
9. Clutter is distracting to me
10. I do not enjoy driving-it’s such a waste of good reading time! (Yes, I can read in the car and both our boys have inherited this ability!)
11. I am an eclectic homeschooler but lean heavily on Classical and Charlotte Mason. So many great options out there!
12. I love to answer reader questions—it’s where my best post ideas come from! got any? Did you already know these things about me? Do we share any of these facts? #FridayIntros #AboutMe #Fridays #HomeschoolMom #Bookworm #BookLover #HomeEducator #Teacher #EnglishTeacher #Writer #FactsAboutMe #happystronghome #Momofboys
