He's a good husband...

Six years ago today... I married my husband...

I stood in front of my mirror, adjusting a white veil...

Widely smiling for photos...

Praying I wouldn't sweat to death on the hottest day of the year...

I met him at the altar...

We promised our lives to each other...

And so we were married!

Our friends and family gathered...

We ate amazing food and chocolate wedding cake with chocolate mousse, espresso and ricotta filling (so delicious)...

Six years into our happily ever after... We share a love for candy, hiking, eating, coffee, gardening. He supports my love of writing. I support his love of martial arts and all things athletic. He understands I hate to get up in the morning. I (try) to understand he hates to stay up late at night. Opposites truly do attract!

We're figuring out how to be simple, intentional parents. How to balance life, love, and have some laughs along the way.

He is a good husband, and a good father.

I love him like crazy!

And he feels the same - I know, because he just had a box of chocolate covered strawberries delivered! Yum! My favorite! And, candy is a traditional year six gift (along with iron (!?)) The modern gift option is wood. Which is what I got him. Something made of wood, that is, not just a pile of wood. We have enough of that already!

Do you do follow the traditional or modern anniversary gift list? We like to do it to keep things interesting!

  3. You were a beautiful bride, Julie! What state did you get married in?

Tim & I rarely buy each other anniversary gifts...which is the way we want it. We prefer to celebrate with experiences rather than gifts. To each his own. 🙂
