A great travel wet bag: PlanetWise Wet / Dry Bag

Yesterday I took the boys to the library for the morning. And what does that have to do with cloth diapering? Well, it just reminded me yet again, that having a travel wet bag is important when you’re cloth diapering full time!

Since I’d be out for the whole morning, I loaded up the big diaper bag with snacks, drinks, diapers, wipes, extra clothes, etc. And my Planetwise wet / dry bag, which I’d received for review purposes.

So… why does it matter what travel wet bag I took?

Well, when it was time to take the baby to the restroom and change his diaper, I didn’t have to cart the ENTIRE big diaper bag with me. No. I just tucked what I needed into the dry section of my travel wet bag and headed off.

It’s so much easier to change a baby in a public place when you don’t have to juggle heavy, bulky bags at the same time. Am I right? Or am I right.

Whether you take a lot of family trips, or just take your babes out around town on errands, you’re going to want a great travel wet bag (or if you’re like me, more!) in your cloth diaper stash.

I’ve reviewed the Planetwise Hanging wet / dry bag previously (read post here), which is definitely a great wet bag for long trips. I’ve wanted the medium Planetwise wet / dry bag ever since! Because… that dry bag part on the side? It’s perfect for throwing a few diapers and package of wipes… and you’re good! It’s the lightest way to travel with baby.

The Planetwise medium dry bag section is roomy enough to tuck a good three or four dry diapers in the outside and a pack of wipes. Here’s a look at everything I fit into the dry part of my bag (with the wet part empty). Three all-in-one or pocket diapers, two inserts (because my baby often wears a Flip or other type of cover), and a large package of wipes.

The inner wet section can hold at least that many wet diapers (I’m usually home to empty and wash by that point!). I’ve always appreciated the heavy PUL liner and sturdy zipper closure that keep smells IN. Their hidden seams are sealed for no leaking or wicking!

Another benefit of a wet / dry bag? You won’t have to fish around in your diaper bag for all the items you’ll need for a diaper change. It’s all “in the bag,” to pull out together without a frustrating rummage!

Sure, you could use JUST a wet bag. But I like the versatility of the wet / dry features for traveling. Oh, and it doesn’t hurt that Planetwise has a huge selection of modern prints in all their bags! It’s hard to pick a favorite (and new prints are always coming out!).

How do you travel with cloth diapers? Do you have a wet / dry bag in your stash?

I have a bunch of wet bags, but yet, never enough… My funky fluff one is my favorite.

What diaper bag is that, I love it!
