Typically, red and green are holiday colors. But not this year. Because this year it’s blue. Blue is the new holiday color (and a splash of yellow).
Why? Because, my son names stores by their colors. When we go by a certain coffee shop that’s “the pink and orange” (but sometimes it’s “the green coffee” and I think you know what I mean).
And when I shop for our technology (of which our house is filled), we go to “the blue and yellow one” – by which, my son means, we’re going to Best Buy.
And Best Buy, dear reader, is going to be a great spot to stop for holiday shopping.
Let me count the ways.
One. Everyone and their cousin wants something techy. Be it a smartphone, tablet, mobile accessories. I’d love to get more accessories for my DLSR camera, and I know Best Buy has it!
Two. People know things there. You know what kind of people? “The blue and yellow ones” – yes, that’s right, the blue shirted staff (and their black and white clad Geek Squad counterparts) are trained to know about the products in store. So when you ask why your camera is slow, they will look at it and tell you it’s because you have a memory card of unusually-small-size in there and need to get a bigger one. True story.
Three. Low Price Guarantee so you get competitive pricing. “The blue and yellow ones” know you don’t want to spend your “green ones” so… in addition, they have free in-store pickup if you order online (LOVE THAT!).
Four. They have a gift guide. Hey, I think my gift guide was pretty awesome this year. But I gotta hand it to Best Buy – it’s pretty cool to search for gift ideas at the Best Buy Gift Center.
Five. It’s like a giant playground. For grown-ups. Because Best Buy lets you touch and try all the latest technology. To make sure you’re really getting what you’re looking for. So you won’t take home the wrong product and then be seeing red.
See. Told ya. This holiday it’s all about blue and yellow – and they are rather cheerful colors, aren’t they? Oh go ahead and hang those green buntings up, but don’t forget to stop in at Best Buy for the gifts!

I love that you took the time to share products they sell that you actually use and like. I believe that phone is the one my mom recently got.
