Packing a beach-ready kid’s kit

Our first camping trip of the year is coming up. With two kids to pack and track, our house is filling up with piles of gear.

This year’s trip takes us to the beach. I’m really looking forward to taking our little guy in the water! Here’s hoping for a waterfront campsite!

As I pack the boys’ towels and bags, I’m reminded this will be a wet and messy trip, with trips to the shore and the camp pool.

Here’s how to pack the perfect kids’ beach-ready kit:

Towels! I pack their fun beach towel for laying on. Then I pack an old hand towel for patting dry quickly or getting sand off.

But. You know how all the moms love to hang towels up to dry on fencing? They all start to look alike after awhile… don’t they? And when we’ve gone camping with multiple family and friends, wow! The towels and gear definitely gets mixed up! Laundry is often done together and then nobody remembers whose is whose! [NOTE, I’m going to hang a bunch of towels over our fence tomorrow and take a photo for effect!]

That’s where my secret weapon comes in. Kiddo Tags sent me their peel-and-stick laundry safe clothing tags at no charge awhile back, and now I have the perfect opportunity to put them to the test.

Besides the towels, the kids’ sun protection clothing is rather expensive, and I don’t want it “walking off” because it looks like another child’s item! I’ve got labels on the kids sunhats, towels, and any other clothing that might come off for air-drying.

AND: On my labels I just put our last name, because the items get handed down from child to child, so this way I don’t have to replace the tags next year for the next kid!

Sun protection! In addition, I’m packing each child a sun care kit – glasses, sunblock, chapstick, and sunhat so we can be sure everyone is in tip-top shape for enjoying summer sunshine safely! Kiddo Tags regular name labels work great for these kits.

Hydration! Don’t forget the water bottles (with name labels!).

Munchies! In addition to crunchy-type snacks, I also put frozen grapes and watermelon balls in containers for the kids to keep cool (or put into their water bottles). If they thaw, it’s still okay to eat and at least they don’t have “hot fruit”!

Now we’re all set for a day at the beach!

Kiddo Tags makes high quality tags and name labels for just about any need. From washable laundry tags to regular old name tags. Their labels come in round, rectangle, and slimline. There’s 18 colors, 25 fonts, and 150 icons – so you can make your kids’ items truly stand out (and not lose them!).

Thanks to Kiddo Tags for sending me items for review and compensating this post. All opinions are 100% my own.
