Did you ever wonder what your life would be like if you had been born to different parents? Would you still be ‘you’?
We can tell our children the beautiful mystery of how God made each one of us “fearfully and wonderfully” – but doesn’t that also mean He placed each of us where he wants us to be? WithAnd gave us the children He wanted us to have?
It’s natural for parents to regard their children as special. But now I look at my child and realize not only is he fearfully and wonderfully made, but he was created to be ours. Uniquely ours.
He could never have existed apart from us… there’s no chance he could have just “shown up” in another family…not because biology dictates, but because God placed him with us.
And that sweet little face just got a bit sweeter to me!
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. ~ Psalm 139:14
