After trying out a few Young Living Essential Oils a couple months back, I decided to get the Everyday Essentials Kit from Young Living.
As I’ve been diffusing and applying these delicious smelling oils, I realized how many, many ways there are to use essential oils in everyday life.
Natural Health Benefits: My goal is to completely eliminate over the counter medications from our home in the next year and replace them with essential oils. So far I’ve used essential oils to support healthy respiration, boost energy and more!
Relaxation: Whether just for a fun spa treatment or if you’re really feeling under pressure from work or life, there’s an oil to support healthy moods and emotions!
Natural Cleaning: I often brush my teeth with Spearmint and Peppermint (it’s a bracing mix, but refreshing and supports healthy oral hygiene!). And let’s not forget household cleaning with essential oils!
In fact, the more I thought about it, using oils is not a recent habit for me. I’ve actually been using essential oils off and on for various reasons over the past 4-5 years!
Here’s a short video I made detailing my path towards making essential oils a bigger part of our lives:

I love your goal of replacing your medicine cabinet over the next year. I'm going to work on that too!

How does peppermint oil affect breastfeeding? Should avoid using it around the house while nursing?

Michelle T - Great question. From my reading and talking with other EO users, what I have heard is this*: A) Many avoid ingesting Peppermint in the 3rd trimester b/c it may cause the baby to flip B) For nursing moms, peppermint CAN cause milk supply to drop in some women, so recommended to avoid internal / topical use while breastfeeding. Diffusing may be okay, but if you have doubts, just avoid it altogether. *Not medical advice! :)
