Mom Wins; Sharpie Loses!

This is Julie.

Fortunately, she’s a mom.

Unfortunately, she is a mom with a head cold.

Fortunately, she got to lay on the couch.

Unfortunately, she dozed off and her son wrote with navy blue Sharpie marker all over her couch in about a dozen places!

Fortunately, her husband didn’t banish her when he returned home.

Unfortunately, the couch was still ruined.

Fortunately, Julie is an English teacher trained to analyze figurative meanings of writing, and wondered, “Does permanent REEEEAAAALLLLY mean “permanent”? Maybe it has some other existential meaning?”

Unfortunately, permanent really just meant permanent in this case.

Fortunately, Julie is on a first name basis with Google. Oh wait. Google only HAS a first name. Okay, well then fortunately, Google offered a lot of solutions for moms-who-have-toddlers-that-write-on-couches-with-Sharpies.

Unfortunately, they all sound a bit dangerous for fabric.

Fortunately, blotting the stain with rubbing alcohol took away about 50% of one spot she tried.

Unfortunately, you could still pretty much see the scribbles.

Fortunately, there are several upholstery cleaners in the area.

Unfortunately, none of them would so much as take a peek at the stain (they are not English majors and they believed the literal version of “permanent”).

Fortunately, Julie is persistent.

Unfortunately, so is Sharpie marker (because persistent alliterates with permanent. It’s a good pairing).

Fortunately, the next night Julie had Marissa, an H2O At Home product consultant, stop by to clean her house.

Unfortunately, that was a hyperbole and Marissa didn’t really clean her whole house. (But pretty close!)

Fortunately, Julie fell in love with all the awesome natural cleaning products offered by H20 At Home!!

Unfortunately, she doesn’t have enough cash on hand to buy every single one RIGHT NOW!

Fortunately, Marissa had this awesome Netepure Natural Stain Remover Soap* that she and Julie tried on the Sharpie marker stains!

Unfortunately, you all were not there to see the miraculous removal of 99% of the Sharpie marker stains!!

Fortunately, Julie videotaped the entire thing!

Unfortunately, you probably don’t have one of these awesome Netepure Stain Remover Soap bars in your home (just $12 and lasts a family of 4 about a year! Try on oil, grease, ring-around-the collar stains and more!).

Fortunately, in just a few days, Julie is going to have an online H2O “party” where you can order the products (just like having a home show… only on my blog home!).

And fortunately, all the stains have been removed from Julie’s couch, meaning that sometimes permanent doesn’t really mean… permanent.

Now isn’t that a great story? Stay tuned for the H2O virtual home show details – you’re ALL invited! (The microfiber chiffonette sets make great Christmas gifts!).

*Netepur is a biodegradable, phosphate free stain removing textile soap from H2O At  Home. Use on laundry challenges, rug & upholstery stains…even old pet stains. You can even clean leather & vinyl! Wet soap bar, rub into the fabric & rinse thoroughly.

What’s your best stain story, fortunate or unfortunate!?

Oh my goodness. I might have to get one of those bars. O took a red sharpie to our brown carpet. It shows up quite nicely. I went to my friend Google too and the least-worst option sounds like white vinegar. I'm still kind of scared to try it (and fail.) I don't want to put too much junk on it either though since it's attached to the floor and don't really want to have to think about getting soap suds or other cleaning stuff out of it. Wish me luck. ;)

OMG!!!! I needed this when I spilt Red Gatorade on our light tan rug. It took me weeks of steam cleaning and using everyones tips online to get it to sort of blend in. Thanks for videotaping it - I would have never believed it!
