I am a former English teacher, now stay-at-home-mom and blogger. I love God, coffee, reading, baking, crafting, the outdoors, and anything to do with my kids and family! I hate spiders, the color pink (most of the time), and assembling things with many small parts. Read more about me here.

My husband is a science teacher, black belt in martial arts, gardener and secretly a fabulous handyman! He loves Japanese anime, rigging up gardening structures, and the St. Louis Rams (I know, I know!).

We have two boys, born in 2010 and 2012. They are energetic, loving, funny, and a daily delight.

Happy Strong Home is a natural parenting blog, catering to parents who seek to move towards a natural lifestyle whether in their food, family, or educational choices. Our blog was born March 17, 2010, when I was adjusting to the {much slower} pace of stay-at-home mom life with a newborn (it went under the name A Year With Mom and Dad for four years)!

Although I’d been blogging since 2005, I wanted to create a space dedicated to our new life as parents. I saw how overwhelming parenthood could be. My goal was to share our parenting journey along with helpful ideas, resources, and activities that work for our family!

We’ve developed from simple posts about parenting to a full-time blog about simple family life and homeschooling. I LOVE writing about the many facets of parenting, from homeschooling classically, to travel with kids, trying new recipes, or testing out baby gear.

I’m so pleased you’ve found us and I hope you stick around! Visit a few of the topics in the menu above and tell me what you enjoy reading!

Have a question about our family or want to partner with my blog? Just drop me a line juliekieras (at) comcast.net!
