I’ve now orchestrated a modest total of FIVE birthday parties for my children. Does that make me an expert? Probably not.
Have I learned a thing or two? Yes. And no!
I can wipe up banners now in a few hours (versus the days long elaborate sewing of the first birthday banner!).
I have Pinterest to help me out (not true with Birthday Number One! How DID I do it!?).
I definitely delegate – my sister helps with the cake decor (always!), I ask a few people to bring sides, and I set hubby up with a huge to do list which generally involves “keep the kids away from the kitchen!”
I haven’t learned how to scale back! Every birthday party ends with a pile of “Oh, I was going to make something with that” craft supplies! LOL.
I haven’t learned to get things done ahead of time! I’m usually up till midnight the night before the parties… getting better though!
And… I still really need to learn how to take good indoor, nighttime photos. Groan! Sadly, I don’t think my birthday party photos have come a long way.
But… here’s some photos anyway to reminisce:
FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY – Car / Truck Party Theme Ideas
SECOND BIRTHDAY PARTY: Train Party Theme Ideas
THIRD BIRTHDAY PARTY: Farm / Tractor Party Theme Ideas
BABY’S FIRST BIRTHDAY: Peter Rabbit Party Theme Ideas
And I will forever love this photo of the boys from last summer… It’s just too perfect to this mama’s eyes!
How do we feel about birthdays around here? Well, I guess this photo sums it up! We love them!!
Thanks for taking that trip with me down memory lane… I love planning parties for my boys, and hope they enjoy the themed birthdays for many years to come! Stay tuned! I’m putting together a post on last weekend’s party very soon!
