Thoughtful Mother’s Day Gift Ideas
Audiobooks give her hands-free reading time!
Many moms I know say they’d LOVE to read, but don’t have the time. Audiobooks from Audible will be a welcome gift! Personally, I hate choosing between resting my eyes and enjoying a good book (I pick the book!). With an audiobook, moms can rest their eyes and enjoy the story. Do housework while catching up on the latest nonfiction title. Or drive the kids around while getting deep into a favorite series.
Give a mom who loves to read a subscription to Audible! Choose 1-, 3-, 6-, or 12-month subscriptions, which makes Audible a great gift choice for any budget. Each month comes with 1 free credit good for any title PLUS 2 Audible Originals titles, and additional perks and savings. If they’re already using Audible, they’ll receive your gift as additional credits to their account right away. Or, you can even send a specific book title as a gift!
Audible books are accessible on a Kindle or any device these days. Here’s something cool – if you start an Audible audiobook on one device and switch devices? It remembers where you left off! Downloaded titles remain as part of their permanent library. Although you can use the Audible app on many devices, I love my Kindle Fire. Pairing a Kindle with an Audible subscription is a wonderful combo gift!

Brighten her life with portable music
You know how much I love our JBL Clip which I featured in my Teacher Appreciation Gift Guide? Well… upgrade for the moms in your life with JBL Flip 4. Their Flip series speakers are award-winning, and here’s why:

Moms can relax with a coloring book
A Giving Heart is a coloring book that celebrates motherhood, by artist Stephanie Corfee. The 48 pages feature gorgeous Scripture artwork for coloring. Each page encourages and inspires moms. Every page has a lovely drawing to color and either a Bible verse or a famous quote about motherhood to delight a mom’s soul. Use it for your own reflection, or for quiet time with your children. A coloring book is a lovely gift to give to your mom friends, or for children to give to their mothers.

Give moms’ feet a rest!
I remember how my feet would throb and swell when I was pregnant and during postpartum healing. Or maybe you’ve got varicose veins from years of childbearing and/or being on your feet all the time (or genetics! like me!). Tootsies compression socks can offer you comfort and relief for your tired feet by supporting and restoring blood circulation, easing muscle soreness, and helping you recover!
With bright patterns and vibrant colors, nobody will even know you’re wearing compression socks! The nylon/Spandex blend makes these durable and breathable. Try the knee-high or ankle length socks to fit your needs and style.
Check out Tooties Compression socks website, or on Amazon. (affiliate link).

I love my African Bolga Basket for keeping batches of books for our homeschool. It’s perfect for storing books, blankets, or all the flotsam and jetsam of family life! Plus they are beautiful and fair trade, so purchases support another mom or family across the ocean! Every basket is unique and colorful and the design you receive will be a delightful surprise, but they are all lovely!

Every Mother’s Day with my mom has been memorable.
We have a tradition of going out for ice cream on Mother’s day, so last year was really special because we did that.
I will always remember my first Mother’s Day as a new mom
I lost my mom when I was only 11. I remember that our tradition was to get the whole family together and we all went out to brunch at this truck stop diner a few towns over. It was great to get together with the grandmas and the great grandmas!
I remember being taken out for Mother’s Day. It was me, my husband and my daughter and then we went home to watch movies. Low key but wonderful
I remember the final Mother’s Day with my mom. I gave her a special handmade necklace with sands from the beaches of Waikiki.

On Mother’s Day one year my daughter got up early and made me a surprise card.
My first Mother’s Day as a mom was the most memorable one for me.
A Mother’s Day I remember is 1997 when I was hit by a car.

I remember my first Mother’s Day as a mom. My mom bought me flowers from my son and the card said thank you for bringing me into the world. That really made my day.
I remember a Mother’s Day 12 years ago when I went to dinner with my daughter and grandkids. It was my last Mother’s Day with my daughter who passed away tragically the next year right before Mother’s Day.
I don’t have any one particular Mother’s Day memory but rather all when I was in elementary. We would always make our mom’s something in school and I loved “surprising” my mom with it. She always knew we were doing something and she always kept everything us kids made for her.
One I will always remember is when my daughter and son, at 4 and 5 yrs old, picked out a leaded glass hummingbird for me. They already knew what I loved!
The Mother’s Day I remember most was last year. It was my first Mother’s day as a mom and my husband got me flowers!
Every year for Mother’s Day we would go to our Beaux Arts Fair to buy something for my mom (and then me!) from a local artisan. The whole family looked forward to this day every year.
My first mother’s day with my baby.
Mother’s day 2010, I had a one year old little girl and was VERY pregnant with baby number two. We headed to the hospital at 11 Mother’s Day night, and my son was born just a couple hours later!
With I was very little, maybe 7 or 8 years old, I lived in Chickamauga, Ga. My sister and I walked down the roads picking up soda bottles. We sold them to a nearby store. I think we got a dollar for our bottles. We then walked to the Five And Dime store. We found a bright purple cardboard walled that we could afford. I thought it was the prettiest shade of purple I had ever seen. We wrapped it in Comic papers from the newspaper for Mothers Day. Mother acted like it was the most beautiful thing that she had ever gotten.
Wallet not walled.
Oh…I remember one many years ago…I got bags of rocks for under our deck! LOL…we did want to get some…but not for Mothers day! Haha…we still laugh about it!

I remember about the mother day I surprised my mom with roses
i remember when I was in 3rd grade my teacher asked us to bring in broken crayons. Our class made candles that were made in a heart shape. I always thought that my candle was so pretty. I’m pretty sure that my mom loved it. Mom still tells me that homemade gifts are the best.
I love Mother’s Day! I remember 2 years ago I got to shop all day by myself, drank margaritas and ate tacos. Got texts from my co-workers saying Happy Mother’s Day. Gifts, I even got a rose from a stranger in the mall. It was the sweetest day ever.
I remember one year my older sister and I made a necklace for mom using seashells we collected along the beach. My mom used to say that gifts that are handmade we’re the best gifts, as it comes from the heart. Happy Mothers Day to all the moms.
The first Mother’s Day I can remember giving my mom a gift 🙂

I remember making breakfast in bed for my mom as a little kid.
giving birth to my son right around mother’s day made it a great mother’s day
Not a particular day but an interesting tradition: When I was a kid in the 60’s, all the girls and ladies at my grandmother’s church wore flowers pinned to our dresses on Mother’s Day–red for those whose Mothers were still alive; white for those whose Mothers had passed on. Of course all the older ladies like my grandmother wore white. I have always wondered whether that tradition was just my grandmother’s church or whether it was more common.
I love this tradition! I’m going to pass it along to my church!
My unique gift was a case of gourmet porkchops!
